FIP Treatment is Now Safe and Affordable

04/16/25

Since the FDA is no longer keeping compounding pharmacies from dispensing both GS-441524 and Molnupirivir, there's a whole new lease on life for F.I.P cats and kittens. BCP had the pleasure of sponsoring a talk given by Dr. William Folger, DVM to the Cat Club students at Texas A&M this year. He brought some astonishing facts to the table when it comes to diagnosing and treating F.I.P. He described the diagnosis as 'clinical' and as the medication is now so affordable and safe, there is no harm in prescribing a small amount of the medication to see how the cat reacts when suspecting the cat has F.I.P. Most cats will turn around in 3-4 days with oral treatment, and as time is crucial for F.I.P. cats, its worth a try when the cost can be less than $50. BCP compounds both GS-441524 and Molnupirivir in any strength requested in capsule or liquid form. The liquid works especially well due to the ability to increase the dose as the cat gains weight. Many studies have been done at UC Davis about GS-441524 demonstrating its effectiveness. BCP's pricing on both products is very reasonable and the turnaround time can be as fast as one day or same day if you are in or near Houston, Texas. BCP also honors special discounts to rescue groups and shelters on these as well as all compounded medications. We believe all cats deserve a fighting chance when faced with F.I.P.
